I certainly remain a sceptic so far in terms of our "technological advancement", but am nevertheless open to persuasion.
Two years ago I was at a presention by Dr Ken Robinson on Creativity. He revealed some frightening (to me) statistics about the projected technological development, or cultural technopoly, to quote Neil Postman. He told us how the USA is investing billions of dollars in nanotechnology and by 2025 it is expected that the computer will be based not in silicon but in DNA.
Since hearing of these projected developments, my interest and concern has grown and led to me in my studies (MA Art Design Education) to explore further the progression we are making from a society with animals at its centre, to one where it seems technology will be at the centre of our very selves.
How will this affect the very nature of our discourse?

I took the first qualifcation for Forest Schools this year and have begun to develop areas for outdoor play for Foundation and Key Stage 1 Children. Our school is situated in a rural location in 'The Broads' and beacuse of this we are developing wider links within the community.
My school is envolved in the creation of an innovative curriculum where all subjects are integrated. This is a new exciting and challenging area which I have implemented in my teaching during the Autumn Term 2006.
