Mathematics NQT 2007-2008 :: Blog

October 11, 2007

Hi everyone,

Emails and booking forms have now been emailed to you all and your subject leaders inviting you to join us on Saturday 3rd November at the Norwich Professional Development Centre.

We have got some interesting and fun things planned and some refreshments will be available. The suggestion is to come in comfortable clothes as there will be some 'out-of-chiar' activities for you to take part in.

It will also be an excellent opportunity to get together with other NQTs and new teachers to discuss your progress so far and to share ideas and resources. In order to do this, please bring along a resource that you have found useful in your teaching. It can be in paper or electronic form.

We hope to see you on 3rd November. In order for the network to go ahead we need you to book on by contacting Sarah Bullock at the PDC on 01603 433276.

All the best,

Andy Edmonds

p.s. If you have a digital camera, please could you bring it along.

During your first years of teaching mathematics, you find that you want to have people that you can share your ideas with, share your problems and concerns with and ask for ideas and advice. Many people will find that this kind of support is readily available in school and becomes part of your work with your department team.

This community will provide that extra layer of support for poeple who are in a similar position to you. An area where you can share ideas and ask for tips. An opportunity to stay in touch with each other and network 'virtually'.

 Pauline McLean and I will also be part of the community to help and give advice if needed. Please feel free to ask anything that like some help with.
