In 1988 I came to Norfolk as Head of English at Broadland High School. Since then I’ve also been Head of English at Sprowston High School.
In 1997 I moved to Oriel High School as Deputy Headteacher, where I spent four happy – if exhausting – years, before deciding that I really missed teaching as my first priority. The Governors and staff supported my AST application in 2001. As the school was in challenging circumstances, all my AST work was ‘In-reach’ as opposed to Outreach.
Since September 2006 I've been at The Blyth-Jex School & Kett Sixth Form Centre in Norwich and doing 'proper' Outreach. I feel I'm settling in well and, although I still miss friends and students at Oriel, I don't miss the A47!
